The CGR3 longwave radiation meter is designed for use in the field of meteorological measurement, measuring downward atmospheric longwave radiation. The voltage output of CGR3 is proportional to the net radiation in far-infrared (FIR). The downward atmospheric longwave radiation can be calculated. In view of this, CGR3 has a built-in temperature sensor and uses a specially designed silicon window. The internal sun blind filter can block solar radiation. The CGR3 data represents the radiation exchange across the entire hemisphere, as the reference CGR 3 instrument is calibrated based on the reference CG4 instrument within an outdoor 180 degree viewing angle range.
CGR3 performs better than CG3 in multiple aspects, based on customer feedback and years of experience during development. CGR3 has a newly designed sun visor that covers the body and connectors, reducing instrument temperature and further improving measurement accuracy. The design of this instrument takes into account the use of existing Kipp&Zonen mounting plates. The base of the instrument has mounting holes, a bubble level, and leveling feet for precise leveling. For the convenience of installation, replacement, and recalibration, the instrument also has a weatherproof connector. The standard instrument delivery kit also includes a 10m shielded cable and a waterproof sealed connector. The temperature dependence and directional response characteristics of CGR 3 have been improved, making it an ideal choice for meteorological and agricultural applications.
